"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Our nation needs prayer like never before. It's hard to know what to pray sometimes, so I've been seeking prayers from some of our earliest founders or influencers as a guide. But these prayers require a great deal of faith. For our country has grown and the power of our government has expanded exceedingly. As history has taught us again and again since history began, power corrupts, so the greater one's power, the greater the corruption. As the system of checks and balances established in the U.S. Constitution becomes more and more unbalanced with the judicial and executive branches making laws while the legislative branch writes laws to give up some of their power and in a government where deals are made behind closed doors and money passed to skew votes, it's all one murky, corrupt mess. Dare we pray the prayers for our forefathers? Are we too far past the point of no return? Are we in a season of judgment in which God has removed His hand from us?
The ways and plans of God are beyond our ability to understand. But He commands us to confess our sins and to pray, so pray we must!

"Pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessing on this house and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof."
